During the school year, FUZE youth group partners up with Salt and Light for Wednesday activities. High school youth members join us for an additional hour of fun, games, and faith on Salt and Light Wednesdays from 7 – 8. Then, in the summer, we deepen our faith and have some fun just as a youth group!
This summer, FUZE youth group is going on the road to take in some nature, have some fun, and gain a robust practical faith through reading and discussing the Book of James. All of these events are weather-dependent and subject to change (but at the same time, all of these events are in Southern NM where the Sun shines bright most days). All these events are free for youth but donations are welcome to assist with gas, meals, and other expenses. Hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc. are encouraged. And, youth will call or text when we get into the van at the end of a trip and/or when we enter back into the city of Las Cruces, giving parents and guardians a better ETA. Our trips are as follows:
- Slot Canyon – Wednesday, June 4th
- We will leave from the church parking lot at 10 AM, returning around 2 PM.
- On the way there, we will read and discuss James 1:1-18. On the way back, we will read and discuss James 1:19-27.
- Full Moon Evening at White Sands – Wednesday, June 11th
- We will leave from the church parking lot at 6 PM, returning around 10:30 PM.
- On the way there, we will read and discuss James 2:1-13. On the way back, we will read and discuss James 2:14-26.
- Gila Catwalk – Wednesday, June 18th
- We will leave from the church parking lot at 8 AM, returning around 6 PM.
- On the way there, we will read and discuss James 3:1-12. On the way back, we will read and discuss James 3:13-18.
- Dinosaur Trackways – Wednesday, July 2nd
- We will leave from the church parking lot at 10 AM, returning around 2 PM.
- On the way there, we will read and discuss James 4:1-12. On the way back, we will read and discuss James 4:13-17.
- Carlsbad Caverns – Wednesday, July 23rd
- We will leave from the church parking lot at 8 AM, returning around 7 PM.
- On the way there, we will read and discuss James 5:1-6. On the way back, we will read and discuss James 5:7-20.
